Bin Enquiry FormThis Saturday the much-anticipated Les Dalton Dog Park will be officially open to the public, and Hutt City Council is marking the occasion with a Dog Day Out – an open invite to the public and their dogs to check out the park, and grab some treats.
Lower Hutt Mayor Campbell Barry will preside over the dog park’s official opening, and is looking forward to seeing everyone (and their furry friends) experience the park for the first time.
“The Les Dalton Dog Park is a truly outstanding facility, and will be a real asset for dog owners across our city. This is the first fenced dog exercise area in Lower Hutt, and given our high rates of dog ownership, it is long overdue,” Campbell Barry says.
“As Mayor I make no apologies about being a dog lover – and on Saturday I will be taking the opportunity to meet and greet as many dogs as I can, and may even give out the odd treat.”
The Dog Day out will run from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Saturday 15 May. There will be a BBQ, and stalls hosting specialist canine services, a vet and a dog food producer. Hutt City Council’s Animal Services team will be there to talk to dog owners.
The park is located in Wainuiomata, at the end of Waiu Street, adjacent to the mountain bike park.
