What should my child wear in the pool?

  • All preschoolers and school age children must wear a swim cap and fitted goggles
  • Girls need to wear one-piece fitting togs
  • Boys need to wear fitted swimwear

What happens if my child cries?

Swim City has a “no crying policy” A child will not learn while they are crying and they will associate water with crying. We will approach this by working with the child on the side of the pool supported by the parents until they are ready to enter the pool.

Will I have the same instructor?

We can't guarantee your instructor will stay the same each term.

How do I book for the next term?

We use a roll-over booking system. This means your child will be rolled over into the same class for the next term.

What if my child progresses?

If the instructor thinks your child is ready to progress, we'll contact you to discuss available days and times for the next level.

What if my child isn't progressing?

Every child learns at a different pace, and some children can take longer to master the skills needed to progress to the next level.

If you are concerned about your child’s progression please let our office staff know. We'll follow up with the relevant instructor and then get in touch with you, doing our best to ensure your child keeps developing their swimming skills.

Do I need to stay at the pool?

If your child is under 8 years old, they need to be actively supervised by a caregiver 16 years old or over.  This means you need to stay at the pool, watch your child, and be able to provide immediate help if needed.  This is a standard rule that applies to any children under 8 using our pools.

Do I need to get in the pool with my child?

For all Aquatots level classes a parent/caregiver will need to be in the pool. These classes also teach you how to support your child in getting comfortable in the water, and how both of you can work to be safe around water.

What happens if I miss a lesson?

We have recently updated our credit policy to allow our clients more flexibility in these ever-changing times.
