Aquatots swimming lessons help babies and toddlers learn water confidence and safety in a fun environment. You'll join your child in the pool to develop essential water skills, at their pace through songs and fun activities.

Your child will move from the Shrimp to Tadpole classes based on age until they turn 2. Once they turn 2 they can progress to either Guppy, Frog or Goldfish depending on how confident they are in the water.

shrimp -  hake(4-10 months)

Learn how to hold and move your baby safely through the water. Your baby will learn how to be happy and comfortable moving through and under the water, developing basic floating and kicking skills.

 



sea monkey - makimaki moana (10-18 months)

Your toddler will learn how to become more water confident and gain independence moving through and under the water. They will develop basic kicking, paddling and floating skills with your help in the pool.

tadpole - moko (18-24 months)

Your toddler will learn how to become more water confident and gain independence moving through and under the water. They will develop basic kicking, paddling and floating skills with your help in the pool.

guppy - guppy(2-3.5 years)

Your toddler will learn how to become happier and confident through and under the water.

They will learn basic kicking, paddling and floating skills with your help in the pool.

frog - poraka(2.5-3.5 years)

Your toddler will be encouraged and supported by you to:

  • improve their floating skills
  • go underwater on their own, and
  • develop independent water safety skills.



goldfish - taraihu(2-3.5 years)

This is an advanced programme for children progressing from the frog class. To join this class your child needs to show confidence in fundamental water skills.

With your encouragement in the water your child will learn to: 

  • float unaided on their front and back,
  • kick and paddle on their own through the water,
  • master all turns, and
  • pick up objects from the pool floor on their own.
