There are seasonal restrictions on dog walking hours at some beaches. You’ll find these clearly signposted at the park or reserve.
Find a dedicated dog exercise area near you.
You can use gas barbecues in our parks and reserves. You can’t light an open fire anywhere in any of our parks or reserves.
We have free electric barbecues available at Williams and Bishop parks.
Large areas of Lower Hutt are now alcohol free zones during the daytime. Check the maps in the Bylaw to see the rules on drinking in a specific park or garden.

Many of our public spaces are smokefree, including all our parks, playgrounds and reserves. Please don't smoke in these areas.
