Leisure and Wellbeing Strategy (PDF 3 Mb)
The Strategy should be viewed against the backdrop of investment and development that the Urban Growth Strategy outlines, with the overarching vision of providing modern integrated community services that cater to all Lower Hutt residents.
Delivery of the best core services, renewal and revitalisation of Lower Hutt’s network of community facilities, the improvement of the quality of life and wellbeing of those in the Northern and Eastern wards and community safety are the four key deliverables here.
The Leisure and Wellbeing Strategy provides Council with a plan on which to base future advice and action that is structured around achieving these deliverables. Building skills from a young age has been highlighted as a priority and will be fundamental to achieving this Strategy’s goals.
