Fairway Drive, Lower Hutt
This park consists of three rails, three basic banks, a funbox and a quarterbowl. It suits beginner to intermediate users, BMX bikes, skateboards and scooters. Seating is available for parents and the coffee van visits frequently! This skatepark received a 3.5 star rating from skateparkhunter.com
Corner of Harcourt Werry Drive and Percy Cameron Street, Avalon
A traditional concrete skate rink that can be used for any sort of wheeled sports.
Block Road by Melling Bridge
Lower Hutt's premier facility. This is a traditional skatepark with street-style features. Melling received a 4 star rating from KickFlip Skateboarding New Zealand.
Walter Mildenhall Park, Naenae
A multipurpose hard court facility with stairs and rails.
Petone Recreation Ground
A traditional mini-ramp.
Next to Council's Laings Road building is an area designed for small-scale skateboarding. It's a handy central place to practice grinds and basic tricks. Stick around and enjoy the basketball court while you're there.
Speldhurst Park, Stokes Valley
A traditional mini-ramp but without the slow motion feeling and extensions on both sides. This park received a 3.4 star rating from skateparkhunter.com – “Still my favourite ramp in Wellington…”
