The Urban Forest Plan was produced to help Council make decisions about maintaining and improving plants and trees on Council land for the benefit of our city and its residents.
It sets out strategies for the city’s natural areas, urban parks and street trees and how we will manage these areas to be more sustainable for future generations.
We want to build our stock of quality street trees to 12,000 and plan to plant 6000 new trees by 2030.
We have worked with the Central Community Committee to develop a theme for street trees in the Central Ward (PDF 38KB).
