Naenae Projects

We’re currently working on two projects in Naenae – rebuilding Naenae Pool and creating a new spatial plan for the town centre, including Hillary Court and the surrounding area.

In April 2019 Naenae Olympic Pool was closed to the public due to seismic issues.

Following a community consultation project (Voice of the Community Report)in 2019 Council has decided to return a pool to Naenae.

This project highlighted many aspirations and ambitions of the community for the Naenae Town Centre. This resulted in the development of the Naenae Spatial Plan showing how the Naenae town centre may be configured in a way to support the community achieve its aspirations.

Due to the close dependencies of these two projects the Naenae Pool and Spatial Plan Projects were combined in October 2020 to better align and manage the opportunity and any potential risk.
