Bin Enquiry FormHutt City Council hereby gives public notice under sections 24(2)(b) of the Reserves Act 1977 that it intends to consider a proposal to revoke the reserve status of the property situated at 9 Wellington Road in Wainuiomata, being pt SEC 29 Lowry Bay District, comprising 4,712 square metres.
Upon revocation the Council intends to make application to the Maori Land Court to set the land apart as a Maori reservation for communal purposes in terms of the Te Ture Whenua Act 1993, under the trusteeship of the Wainuiomata Marae Charitable Trust, as it has previously done for the land upon which the Marae is located. This will enable the land fronting the Marae to be developed and managed under a single control for the benefit of the local community.
